Police Arrest 26-Year-Old at Curaçao Airport for Allegedly Smuggling Hashish From the Netherlands

WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao police arrested a 26-year-old man at Hato International Airport after he allegedly attempted to enter the island carrying a quantity of hashish from the Netherlands.

According to the Curaçao Police Force (KPC), the arrest took place at approximately 10:25 p.m. on Monday, August 17, shortly after the suspect arrived on Curaçao.

The man, identified by police by the initials J.R.A.H.P., was born in Curaçao and is suspected of violating the Opium Ordinance.

Police did not disclose the amount of hashish allegedly found in the suspect's possession or provide details about how the drugs were discovered.

Following his arrest at the airport, the 26-year-old was brought before an assistant public prosecutor, who ordered that he remain in custody pending further investigation.

The investigation into the case is continuing.
