WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao police arrested a 22-year-old man Thursday afternoon after he allegedly threatened a government employee with a knife following an argument at a government facility on Weg naar Westpunt.
The incident occurred at approximately 1:26 p.m. on Thursday, September 24. The Police Central Dispatch Center sent officers to the location after receiving a report of a threat.
According to police, an initial investigation at the scene established that an argument had taken place between an employee and another man.
During the confrontation, the man allegedly threatened the employee with a knife.
Officers arrested the suspect at the scene. Police identified him by the initials J.C.K., a 22-year-old man born in Curaçao.
The suspect was brought before an assistant public prosecutor, who ordered that he remain in custody pending further investigation.
Police have not disclosed what led to the argument or whether anyone was injured during the incident.
