PNP Launches Renewed Identity and Strategic Vision

| By Press release March 23, 2026

WILLEMSTAD - Exactly one year after the parliamentary elections of March 21, 2025, the faction of the Partido Nashonal di Pueblo (PNP) is presenting a renewed strategic communication trajectory. In its role as the largest opposition faction in Parliament, the party emphasizes its commitment to transparency, good governance, and a strong connection to the development of the people of Curaçao through a new corporate identity and a sharpened political vision.

The Responsibility of Nashonal

After a year of strategic analysis, hard work, and leading the opposition in Parliament, the faction, under the guidance of Faction Advisor Gwendell Mercelina Jr., has been working in recent months on a push toward greater professionalization. “As the largest opposition party, we bear an especially heavy responsibility. The people look to us to keep the government sharp and to offer a hopeful alternative,” said Mercelina. “Our documents and statements should not be simple pieces of paper, but carriers of the Kurason Nashonal (The National Heart).”

Kontrolá. Proponé. Mehorá.

The new communication style is built on the foundation of the PNP Agenda 2025–2029 and follows a clear parliamentary methodology: Kontrolá (providing critical oversight as the leader of the opposition), Proponé (proposing constructive solutions), and Mehorá (working to improve quality of life). This approach forms the “green thread” running through all proposals, messages, and parliamentary questions from the faction.

Additionally, the faction will consistently test its vision against the four pillars of human development: spiritual, mental, physical, and social well-being. The party is moving away from traditional political rhetoric and opting for an accessible, respectful, yet decisive tone of voice aimed at reaching all citizens of Curaçao.

Di fundeshi pa progreso

With this step toward professionalization, the entire PNP faction—consisting of leader Ruthmilda Larmonie-Cecilia, Ornelio “Kid” Martina, Ruisandro Cijntje, and Sheldry Osepa, supported by Haicheline Rosinda, Elvin Gerard, and Gwendell Mercelina Jr.—is preparing for the remainder of the parliamentary term.

The determination from the 2025 campaign remains unchanged: “Ban sigui ku e trabou!” (“Let’s continue the work.”)

From now on, the faction will implement its new official channels, letterheads, and digital communications.
