WASHINGTON – Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas and Minister of Finance Charles Cooper held a meeting with Queen Máxima in Washington D.C., where she was present in her capacity as the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development (UNSGSA).

The meeting took place during the Curaçao delegation’s visit to the United States and included an exchange of views on the recent royal visit to Philadelphia, Washington D.C., and Miami. The officials and Queen Máxima reflected on the engagements held during the visit and expressed support for continued activities in the United States.
According to the Curaçao government, the discussion focused on international cooperation and economic development, with particular attention to financial inclusion and opportunities for future collaboration.
Queen Máxima, in her UN role, advocates globally for improved access to financial services, especially for underserved populations, making the topic of financial inclusion a central element of the conversation.
