WILLEMSTAD – The Temporary Housing Committee of the Curaçao Parliament met Monday with stakeholders involved in the renovation of the historic courthouse building to receive an update on the progress of the project and discuss the next phases of the work.

The meeting took place on June 15 and focused on the ongoing renovation of the courthouse, which has been undergoing extensive restoration and modernization efforts.

Representatives of the Joint Court of Justice opened the session with a presentation outlining the current status of the renovation works. They provided committee members with information on completed activities, ongoing construction efforts, and the planning for upcoming phases of the project.

Following the presentation, members of the Temporary Housing Committee had the opportunity to ask questions and exchange views regarding developments related to the courthouse building. Discussions focused on the progress achieved so far and the steps required to move the project forward.

The courthouse renovation is considered an important project for the judicial sector, as it aims to improve facilities while preserving the historic character of the building. The project has also required temporary housing arrangements for judicial services during the renovation period.

Parliament said the meeting formed part of its ongoing oversight of the project and its efforts to remain informed about the progress of the renovation and the planning of future activities.

No additional details were released regarding completion dates or timelines for the next stages of the renovation.
