WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao Parliament Chairman Fergino Brownbill has held a series of meetings with American political leaders and officials during a visit to Kansas City, Missouri, where discussions focused on shared economic and social challenges as well as opportunities for closer cooperation.

Among those Brownbill met was Andrea Bough. According to the Parliament Chairman, the meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on issues affecting both jurisdictions, including rising housing prices driven by rapid economic growth, aging populations, and the need for active economic development policies.

Brownbill said he invited Bough to visit Curaçao in the future to further strengthen ties and explore areas of cooperation.

During his stay, the Parliament Chairman also met with Mike Kehoe, Quinton Lucas, and Eric Strating.

In addition, Brownbill held talks with U.S. Congressman Tracey Mann. Discussions reportedly covered Curaçao’s performance at the FIFA World Cup, developments on the island, and the possibility of establishing stronger legislative cooperation between Curaçao and the U.S. Congress, similar to the relationship Aruba has cultivated with members of Congress.

The meetings took place as Curaçao continues to attract international attention through its historic participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
