PAR to Host Information Session on “Rib’E Luga” Residency Program

Local, | By Press release April 16, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – The political party PAR will host an information session on Tuesday, April 21, to inform the public about the government’s upcoming “Rib’E Luga” residency program.

The session will take place at 7:00 p.m. at Sentro di Bario Janwe and is being organized in collaboration with the Immigration Service.

The initiative follows the government’s recent announcement that, starting May 1, undocumented individuals will be allowed to apply for a residence permit during a three-month period under the Rib’E Luga program.

According to PAR, similar “grace periods” have been implemented in the past, including the Brooks Tower program during the Netherlands Antilles period and more recently temporary residency measures introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The information session aims to address the many questions circulating within the community and among party members regarding the new policy.

PAR political leader and former Minister of Justice Quincy Girigorie will open the evening by sharing his experience with similar programs in the past.

Officials from the Immigration Service, including department representatives, will provide a detailed explanation of the Rib’E Luga program and its procedures.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions directly to immigration professionals during the session.

PAR says the event is intended to provide clarity and ensure that the public is well informed about the upcoming application process.
