WILLEMSTAD – Just over half of Curaçao residents surveyed by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) said they were satisfied with healthcare on the island overall, even though individual healthcare services received substantially higher ratings.
According to the Enkuesta Sosial 2025, 52 percent of respondents described themselves as satisfied or very satisfied with healthcare services in Curaçao in general.
The results form part of a new CBS publication examining residents’ experiences with healthcare. The survey was conducted between September and November 2025 and covered healthcare use, accessibility, affordability, satisfaction, informal caregiving and health-related absence from work.
While the overall healthcare system received a satisfaction rating of 52 percent, respondents were considerably more positive when asked about specific services.
Medical laboratories received the highest satisfaction score, with 79.6 percent of respondents reporting satisfaction with the service.
General practitioners followed closely at 77.7 percent, while pharmacies received a satisfaction rating of 75.9 percent.
Dentists were rated positively by 74.7 percent of respondents.
The difference between the overall assessment of Curaçao’s healthcare system and satisfaction with individual providers is one of the notable findings emerging from the survey.
CBS did not, in the information released, attribute the difference to a specific cause. The broader study examines residents’ experiences with healthcare accessibility and affordability in addition to their interaction with individual healthcare providers.
The findings offer policymakers and healthcare organizations new data on how residents perceive Curaçao’s healthcare system and individual services within it.
