WILLEMSTAD – A person was injured during a shooting incident in the Kanga neighborhood on Sunday evening and was rushed to the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) for emergency treatment, according to the Curaçao Police Force (KPC).
Police said the incident stemmed from a family dispute that escalated into an argument and eventually a shooting.
As part of the investigation, officers arrested two women, aged 26 and 36, on suspicion of assault. A 29-year-old man was also taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder and violations of Curaçao’s firearms legislation.
Authorities have not released information regarding the condition of the victim or the circumstances that led to the shooting.
The KPC confirmed that detectives are continuing their investigation to establish exactly what happened and determine the roles of those involved.
All three suspects remain in custody pending further investigation and the results of ongoing police inquiries.
Police have not ruled out additional arrests as the investigation progresses.
