WILLEMSTAD – Nuuunka Spin has captured the Curaçao men’s A-Class team championship for the 2026 season, while Smashers claimed the men’s B-Class title during finals played before a packed crowd at the Irene Moreno sports hall.
The championship matches attracted a large turnout of table tennis enthusiasts, including several former players who had not competed for some time. The finalists delivered competitive performances that drew enthusiastic applause from spectators.

In the men’s A-Class final, Nuuunka Spin, represented by Juan Carlos Sanchez, Ravi Rajwani and Henny Metry, defeated Donic 3-0 to secure the national team championship.
Donic competed with Ron van Spanje, Jaysron Mathilda and Sigmar Carmelia but was unable to stop Nuuunka Spin from completing its championship run.
In the B-Class, Smashers took the title with a 3-1 victory over Mobile Link. Russel Lasten and Kim Chang represented the champions, while Dik Hendriks and Kalai competed for Mobile Link.
Following the finals, awards were presented to the championship teams and the most valuable players in the different categories. Dimitri Leon was named MVP of the men’s A-Class, while Russel Lasten received the honor in the men’s B-Class. Cyrella Rosalia was recognized as MVP of the women’s B-Class, and Kalai received the award for the Liga Pasa Tempu.
Before the championship matches, Tornado, Shot and Donic were also presented with plaques recognizing their contribution to the development of table tennis in Curaçao.
With the national team championship concluded, attention now turns to international competition.
An international table tennis tournament is scheduled to take place from October 8 through 11, with more than 55 participants expected to compete.
The tournament will feature competition in the Open, 50-plus, 60-plus and 70-plus categories, continuing a busy period for the sport in Curaçao.
