NOS to Broadcast Curaçao World Cup Matches Live, but Access Limited on the Island

Local, International, United States, | By Correspondent April 21, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Dutch public broadcaster NOS will air all matches of the Curaçao national team during the upcoming World Cup, but viewers on the island will face restrictions in accessing the broadcasts.

NOS holds the official broadcasting rights for the tournament in the Netherlands and will transmit all matches via television and online livestreams through its NPO platforms.

Curaçao will compete in Group E, facing Germany, Ecuador, and Ivory Coast in the group stage. The team’s opening match against Germany is scheduled for June 14 at 1:00 p.m. Curaçao time. This will be followed by a match against Ecuador on June 20 and a final group match against Ivory Coast on June 25.

While viewers in the Netherlands can watch the games live through NOS channels and online streams, access is more limited for audiences in Curaçao. Broadcasting rights for the World Cup are distributed by region, and in the Caribbean these rights are typically held by international sports networks.

As a result, NOS livestreams are generally not accessible outside the Netherlands. In practice, this means that viewers on Curaçao would need to use a VPN connection to access the Dutch streams.

Local audiences are therefore expected to rely on regional or local broadcasters to follow the matches live.

The situation highlights ongoing challenges around international broadcasting rights, particularly for major sporting events, where geographic restrictions often determine how and where fans can watch their national team.
