WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao North Sea Jazz Festival is not only attracting visitors to Curaçao, but also shaping how they experience and connect with the island, according to a new impact report.

The study highlights the festival’s strong experiential value, with more than 90 percent of attendees giving top ratings for elements such as community atmosphere, immersive environment, and music quality.

These factors combine to create an experience that goes beyond entertainment, fostering emotional engagement and social connection among visitors.

The impact is also reflected in how visitors perceive Curaçao itself. More than 80 percent of respondents rated the island highly for qualities such as authenticity, meaningfulness, and personal identity.

According to the report, visitors see Curaçao not just as a destination, but as a place of personal significance. The festival environment allows attendees to feel connected, free, and part of a broader community.

This emotional connection translates into strong behavioral outcomes. Visitors report a high likelihood of recommending both the festival and the island, as well as a strong intention to return.

The findings suggest that the festival plays a critical role in shaping Curaçao’s international image, positioning it as a cultural destination with both emotional and experiential appeal.

As a result, the North Sea Jazz Festival is increasingly seen not just as an event, but as a platform that enhances Curaçao’s global identity and strengthens its reputation in the international tourism market.
