WILLEMSTAD – Governor of Curaçao Mauritsz de Kort has appointed Lieutenant at Sea 2nd Class senior category (LTZ 2 OC) Esther Vermue as his new adjutant. She officially assumed the position on Friday, July 31, 2026, and will serve in the role for the coming years.
Vermue succeeds Captain of Marines Glenn Werleman, who served as the Governor’s adjutant for the past three and a half years.
Werleman will leave the position effective September 1, 2026, to begin his new assignment as Commander of the Aruban Militia at the Marine Barracks Savaneta in Aruba.
The Governor’s adjutant plays an important role in supporting the Governor in official duties, ceremonies and military-related matters. The position is traditionally filled by an officer from the Dutch Armed Forces.
Governor De Kort expressed appreciation for Werleman’s service and welcomed Vermue as she begins her new responsibilities.
