WILLEMSTAD – Employment and self-employment remain the most important sources of income for nearly half of Curaçao’s population aged 15 and older, according to the latest Labour Force Survey published by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) Curaçao.
The CBS report, based on the Social Survey 2025, shows that 48.4 percent of the population receives their main income from employment or their own business.
The second most important source of income is the AOV pension, which is the primary income source for 21.8 percent of residents aged 15 and older.
The survey also highlights that 17.1 percent of the population has no personal source of income.
For 6.6 percent of residents, the main source of income is a pension from the Civil Servants Pension Fund (APC), a private pension fund or an employer pension. Social assistance is the primary income source for 2.9 percent of the population.
The income figures form part of a broader analysis of Curaçao’s labour market in 2025. The study also examined employment levels, unemployment, labour participation and the number of people actively searching for work.
CBS integrated the Labour Force Survey into the Social Survey 2025, which was conducted between September and November 2025.
