WILLEMSTAD – The Korps Politie Curaçao (KPC) issued nearly as many traffic fines as the number of vehicles inspected during a traffic control operation Wednesday evening on Kaya Kazèrne.
According to police, officers from the UST unit carried out the inspection between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. A total of 30 vehicles were checked, with 28 drivers receiving traffic citations.
The violations included driving without a valid driver’s license or insurance, missing inspection cards or license plates, and failing to wear seat belts. Some motorists were also fined for excessively dark window tint.
The police did not disclose the total amount of fines issued.
KPC stated that additional traffic controls will follow as authorities continue efforts to improve road safety and enforce traffic regulations on the island.
