WILLEMSTAD - Fieldwork for a national survey on disaster and emergency preparedness among residents of Curaçao will begin on Tuesday, 21 July.
The study is commissioned by the Government of Curaçao, through the Directorate of Risk Management and Disaster Policy (DRR), and is being independently conducted by RE-Quest Research & Consultancy.
Over the coming weeks, a team of survey interviewers will be present at various locations across Curaçao, inviting residents aged 18 and older to participate in a short survey. The interviewers can be recognized by their red shirts.
The study aims to provide the Government with greater insight into how well residents and households are prepared for disasters and emergencies, which preparedness measures people have already taken, and in which areas additional information or support may be needed.
The cooperation of residents is important in order to obtain as complete and representative a picture of the situation in Curaçao as possible. Members of the public are therefore encouraged to participate when approached by one of the survey interviewers. The survey takes only a few minutes to complete, and every response contributes to a better understanding of the preparedness and needs of the Curaçao community.
