More Than 34,000 Curaçao Residents Receive ANG 100 Cost-of-Living Support

Local, | By Press release July 6, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – More than 34,000 residents have already received the government's temporary ANG 100 cost-of-living support payment, according to an update issued by the Ministry of Social Development, Labor and Welfare (SOAW) and the Ministry of Economic Development (MEO).

Based on payment data for May and June, the government said the first target groups have now received the additional financial assistance for two consecutive months.

Assistance recipients

Approximately 4,700 people receiving social assistance benefits have received the ANG 100 payment for both months.

In addition, around 30,000 recipients of the Old Age Pension (AOV) and widows' and orphans' pensions with an annual income below ANG 30,000 have also received the temporary support payment for May and June.

In total, 34,700 citizens have already benefited from the program over the two-month period.

Some applications still incomplete

The ministries noted that some employees, small business owners and applicants eligible for food assistance packages who registered through the government's online portal, sosten.gobiernu.cw, have not yet received their payments because their applications remain incomplete.

Applicants who still need to submit additional information or supporting documents will receive a response once the required documentation has been provided and their applications have been processed.

Temporary measure

The Sosten program was introduced by the government as a temporary relief measure to assist the island's most vulnerable residents in coping with the rising cost of living caused by international economic developments.

Residents seeking additional information about the temporary support program can contact the Temporary Support Team by calling 724-5300.
