Minister Van Heydoorn Attends Inter-Island School Games in Aruba

WILLEMSTAD – Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Sithree van Heydoorn is attending the finals of the 2026 Inter-Island School Games, taking place in Aruba from March 26 to 29.

The annual event brings together schools from Curaçao, Aruba, and Bonaire to compete in a range of sports disciplines, while promoting patriotism, personal development, and cooperation between the islands.

Curaçao is represented in volleyball by Marnix College VSBO. In athletics, several schools are competing across different categories, including Dr. Albert Schweitzer, Maria Immaculata Lyceum, Kolegio Annie Koenraad, Johan van Walbeeck College, and SGO.

In the aquathlon discipline, participating schools from Curaçao include Kolegio Alejandro Paula, Dr. Albert Schweitzer HAVO, Vespucci College, the International School of Curaçao, and Radulphus College.

The Inter-Island School Games are considered an important event for strengthening unity among Curaçao, Aruba, and Bonaire. All travel expenses for participating students are being covered by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, in collaboration with the Curaçao Sports Development Federation (FDDK).

Minister Van Heydoorn and the ministry have wished all participants success, expressing confidence that they will represent Curaçao with pride.
