WASHINGTON, D.C. – Curaçao’s Minister Plenipotentiary in Washington, Jérôme Beeldsnijder, is organizing a virtual information session aimed at empowering students and professionals from Curaçao and Aruba who are interested in pursuing regional and international careers.

The online event is being organized in collaboration with Aruba’s Minister Plenipotentiary in Washington, Zulema Erasmus, the Kingdom of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the National Coordinator for International Positions (NCIF).

The virtual session will take place on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. Interested participants can register through the following link: https://gobiernu.co/seshonvirtual-NCIF.

The session will focus on career opportunities for professionals from the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom within international organizations and the pathways required to obtain such positions.

According to Minister Beeldsnijder, greater representation of Curaçaoans in regional and international institutions such as the United Nations, the World Bank, and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) can bring significant benefits to Curaçao and contribute to the island’s long-term development.

He noted that working within international organizations allows professionals to develop high-level expertise, expand their professional networks, gain access to regional and global knowledge, and increase their visibility on the international stage.

“These experiences can ultimately benefit our islands, whether professionals return home and apply their knowledge directly or contribute from abroad through mentorship, partnerships, knowledge-sharing, and other forms of support,” Beeldsnijder said.

During the session, Anita Conijn of the National Coordinator for International Positions (NCIF) will deliver a presentation on opportunities within international institutions and the recruitment processes involved.

Participants will also hear firsthand experiences from Vanessa van Dijsseldonk, a Curaçao government official who has worked at the United Nations in the United States. She will share insights into her career path and experiences within the international organization.

The initiative forms part of broader efforts to encourage greater participation by Caribbean professionals in international institutions and to help build a stronger network of experts capable of contributing to the development of Curaçao, Aruba, and the wider region.
