WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao’s Ministry of Economic Development (MEO) is expanding its support for local entrepreneurs through Mi NEGOSHI Shared & Support Services (MNSSS), following the program’s full integration into the ministry on April 1, 2026.
During the first eight months of the year, Mi NEGOSHI provided entrepreneurs with coaching, training, webinars, in-depth sessions and business guidance. The government wants the program to become a central point of support for micro, small and medium-sized businesses in Curaçao.
By incorporating Mi NEGOSHI into MEO, the ministry aims to bring together coaching, training, information and connections with different organizations and partners within Curaçao’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Minister of Economic Development Roderick Middelhof said the objective is to make assistance more accessible to entrepreneurs and not wait until businesses encounter difficulties.
“With Mi NEGOSHI within MEO, we want to bring support closer to the entrepreneur,” Middelhof said. “Not only when an entrepreneur runs into problems, but especially to help structure and professionalize the business and prepare it for growth.”
Demand for individual business guidance has been evident during the first half of the year. Mi NEGOSHI started 34 coaching programs during the first two quarters of 2026, of which 13 have already been completed.
According to MEO, assistance with preparing business plans and general business administration are among the services most frequently requested by entrepreneurs. Mi NEGOSHI is also working to expand its pool of Business Advisors to increase its capacity to assist businesses.
In addition to individual coaching, the program organized five workshops during the first eight months of 2026.
Among the subjects covered was “The Entrepreneur and Their Tax Obligations,” presented by the Stichting Belastingaccountantsbureau (SBAB). The program also introduced Breakfast, Brew & Breakthroughs, or BBB, which provides entrepreneurs with a smaller and more interactive setting to explore issues relevant to developing their businesses.
The integration of Mi NEGOSHI into MEO forms part of the ministry’s effort to strengthen Curaçao’s business-support infrastructure.
During the coming period, the program will focus on making entrepreneurial assistance more practical and accessible and better aligned with the day-to-day realities faced by businesses on the island.
