Minister Middelhof Meets Curaçao Students During Royal Visit to Miami

MIAMI – Minister of Economic Development Roderick Middelhof joined the final part of the Dutch royal working visit to the United States, where he met with Curaçao students studying in Miami.

A total of eleven students from Curaçao participated in the meeting, sharing their academic experiences and future ambitions. Middelhof emphasized the importance of young professionals returning to the island after completing their studies to contribute to Curaçao’s development.

The visit formed part of a broader mission led by Willem-Alexander and Máxima, who highlighted the strategic role of the Kingdom in a time of global geopolitical tensions.

During the visit, the King pointed to Miami’s importance as a key trade partner for the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom, including Curaçao. Queen Máxima also underscored the significance of Florida’s healthcare sector, noting that patients from the islands often travel there for specialized medical treatment.

The Curaçao delegation further included representatives from the tourism and logistics sectors, reflecting the island’s focus on strengthening international ties and economic opportunities.
