The meeting had a closed and introductory character, during which Royal Schiphol Group provided a general overview of how the organization operates, its international experience, and its collaborations with various airports around the world. The dialogue emphasized the importance of learning from one another, strengthening relationships, and exploring how the parties can complement each other in terms of knowledge and expertise.
Minister Middelhof shared his vision for Curaçao’s economic development, noting that the tourism sector continues to show growth and that the number of passengers using Curaçao International Airport is steadily increasing. In that context, he highlighted the need to consider a larger airport in the future, with special attention to expansion, service quality, and strengthening the cargo area as part of the island’s broader economic potential.
The meeting is regarded as an informative step within the ongoing dialogue that began in previous years and served to exchange information and further deepen discussions about the strategic role of the airport within the Government of Curaçao’s long-term vision.
