WILLEMSTAD – Charles Cooper, together with the Public Works Department (OW), has officially handed over letters of assignment to four major contractors for the execution of various road maintenance and asphalt projects in several neighborhoods across Curaçao.
With the issuance of these work orders, a new phase of the ministry’s road maintenance program has commenced. The projects are aimed at improving traffic safety, enhancing accessibility, strengthening the durability of the island’s infrastructure, and reducing the existing maintenance backlog in multiple districts.

The works will take place at the following locations:

Asphalt paving of Andres Belloweg (Brievengat)
Maintenance of Kaya Djembe (Santa Rosa)
Asphalt paving of Cocolodeweg (Montagne)
Maintenance of Stakamahachiweg (Montagne)
Maintenance of Nestorweg, Kaya Sole and Talon (Ronde Klip)
Maintenance of Bonacaweg (Santa Maria)
Maintenance of Kaya Afido (Seru Mahuma)
Maintenance of Weg naar Welgelegen
Maintenance of Winston Churchillweg
Maintenance of Souax West – Phase 1

The Public Works Department will supervise the progress and quality of execution to ensure that all projects are carried out in accordance with established technical standards and planning schedules.
OW is urging all road users to take into account possible temporary traffic disruptions during the execution of the works and to follow indicated detours where applicable.
