BOGOTÁ – As part of his official working visit to Colombia, Curaçao’s Minister of Health, Environment and Nature (GMN), Tyron Boekhoudt, together with representatives of the Social Insurance Bank (SVB) and other members of the Curaçao delegation, visited Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá, one of Colombia’s most prestigious medical institutions and a recognized leader in healthcare throughout the region.
During the visit, the delegation received a series of presentations on the hospital’s services, with special focus on cardiology, burn care, and the overall organization of the institution. The presentations provided valuable insight into the hospital’s medical capabilities, advanced technologies, and the methods used to deliver highly specialized and complex healthcare services.

In addition to the presentations, the delegation toured the hospital’s facilities, gaining first-hand exposure to its modern infrastructure, specialized departments, and innovative practices that contribute to its reputation for excellence in patient care.
Minister Boekhoudt emphasized that the visit forms part of Curaçao’s broader efforts to strengthen international partnerships and promote knowledge exchange with leading healthcare institutions around the world.
“To further improve healthcare in Curaçao, it is important that we learn from institutions that are internationally recognized for their quality and innovation,” Minister Boekhoudt said. “Visits such as these provide valuable insights that can contribute to the continued development and strengthening of healthcare services on our island.”
The meeting also provided an important opportunity to exchange experiences, explore potential areas of collaboration, and gain a deeper understanding of the expertise Colombia has to offer in the field of specialized medical care.
According to the Ministry, the visit is part of ongoing efforts to identify strategic partnerships that can enhance healthcare quality, expand access to specialized treatment, and support the long-term sustainability of Curaçao’s healthcare system.
