WILLEMSTAD – Minister of Health, Environment and Nature Tyron Boekhoudt met Monday morning with employees of the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC), hospital management and the CBV union as efforts continue to address the situation at the hospital and provide clarity on the collective labor agreement (CLA).
The meeting follows discussions between the parties and agreements reached on August 20.
Boekhoudt has taken on a facilitating role, bringing the different parties together and creating space for constructive dialogue. According to the government, the objective is to keep communication open and work toward greater clarity and solutions.
During Monday’s meeting, CMC employees are being informed directly about the current situation, the agreements reached between the parties and the next steps regarding the CLA.
The talks come amid tensions between CMC employees and management over labor conditions. CBV recently expressed concern about the implementation of agreements reached during the August 20 meeting and warned that failure to honor those commitments could create further unrest within the hospital.
For Boekhoudt, the priority is ensuring that employees receive clear information while all parties remain engaged in dialogue and respect their respective responsibilities.
The minister stressed that both the interests of CMC employees and the continuity of healthcare services for the Curaçao population must remain central to the discussions.
