WILLEMSTAD – Minister of Health, Environment and Nature Tyron Boekhoudt attended the official opening of Salú pa Tur’s new facility at Willem de Zwijgerlaan 7 in Emmastad, bringing several of the organization’s healthcare and support services together under one roof.
Salú pa Tur provides primary healthcare to people who, for various reasons, do not have access to regular healthcare services in Curaçao.
In addition to medical consultations, the organization focuses on prevention and early detection of illnesses, care for chronic conditions, prenatal and postnatal care, and psychological support.
During 2025, Salú pa Tur provided more than 15,000 consultations to over 3,000 patients.
According to Boekhoudt, organizations such as Salú pa Tur play an important role not only in reaching people who need medical assistance, but also in preventing health conditions from becoming more serious. Early intervention can also help reduce pressure on Curaçao’s healthcare system.
With the opening of the new facility, Salú pa Tur can now house its medical clinic, outreach team, psychosocial support services, administrative activities and management operations at a single location.
The organization expects the centralized facility to improve coordination among its different teams and allow more efficient use of available resources.
Boekhoudt congratulated Salú pa Tur’s management, employees, volunteers, partners and donors on the opening of the new building.
“Salú pa Tur is a valuable partner in our healthcare sector. When we manage to reach people in time, we are investing in prevention, but also in a more accessible and sustainable healthcare system,” Boekhoudt said.
“We must continue working together to ensure that appropriate care reaches those who need it.”
