WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao is attracting a growing share of Millennials and Gen X travelers, according to the new Caribbean Travel Trends 2026 report by Amadeus and the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA).
The report identifies Curaçao as one of the Caribbean destinations where travelers between the ages of 26 and 65 are particularly dominant.
Researchers describe these travelers as mainly couples, honeymooners, professionals, and young families looking for lifestyle-oriented experiences, comfort, and longer stays.
According to the study, travelers aged 26 to 45 account for 35 percent of all Caribbean arrivals, while the 46 to 65 age category represents another 33 percent.
Curaçao was specifically grouped with Saint Lucia and Grenada as destinations performing strongly among these middle-aged travel segments.
The report suggests that this demographic is increasingly important because these travelers generally spend more, stay longer, and show strong interest in wellness, lifestyle experiences, and destination authenticity.
Researchers also note that younger travelers under 26 tend to be more influenced by social media and digital content, while older travelers above 65 prioritize comfort, authenticity, and extended stays.
The study concludes that destinations capable of understanding traveler personas and tailoring marketing accordingly will be better positioned to attract higher-value tourism and maintain growth in an increasingly competitive global tourism market.
