WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao police have launched an investigation after a man was shot outside a nightclub on Cubaweg in the early hours of Sunday morning.
According to the Curaçao Police Force (KPC), the Police Dispatch Center received reports of a shooting at approximately 5:00 a.m. on June 28. Patrol units were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Shortly afterward, dispatchers received additional information that a man suffering from a gunshot wound was on his way to the hospital. Officers were also sent to the medical facility.
At the hospital, police found a man who had arrived in a private vehicle. He was bleeding from a gunshot wound to his foot.
The victim told investigators that he had been struck by a bullet a short time earlier while on Cubaweg.
As part of the investigation, police seized the vehicle in which the victim was transported to the hospital. Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting and have not yet released information regarding a suspect or motive.
