MAN-PIN Alleges Abuse of Power at Health Ministry Following Court Rulings

Local, Politics, | By Correspondent June 17, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Opposition party MAN-PIN is accusing the Ministry of Health, Environment and Nature (GMN) of structural abuse of power and the unlawful removal of civil servants, citing recent rulings by the Civil Service Court that overturned decisions affecting multiple government employees.

According to the party, the court judgments point to serious concerns regarding the treatment of civil servants within the ministry and raise questions about whether legal procedures were properly followed.

MAN-PIN argues that several employees were removed from their positions based on insufficiently substantiated grounds and that the actions taken against them did not comply with applicable legal requirements.

"The situation has resulted in personal, professional and financial damage for the individuals involved," the party stated.

Concerns About Public Service Delivery

Beyond the impact on the affected civil servants, MAN-PIN warned that the departure of experienced personnel could have broader consequences for government operations and public health services.

According to the opposition party, the loss of institutional knowledge and expertise within the ministry could negatively affect the quality and continuity of public services provided to the population.

The party expressed concern that repeated personnel disputes could undermine the effective functioning of departments responsible for healthcare, environmental protection, and other critical government responsibilities.

Questions for Government

In response to the court rulings, MAN-PIN has submitted 24 questions to the government seeking clarification about the decisions that led to the removal of the civil servants and the measures being taken following the court's intervention.

The party is calling for transparency regarding the circumstances surrounding the cases, as well as accountability for any procedural errors that may have occurred.

MAN-PIN is also urging the government to implement corrective measures and consider reinstating the affected civil servants to their previous positions.

Awaiting Government Response

The party says the answers provided by the government will be important in determining whether the incidents were isolated cases or part of a broader pattern within the ministry.

The allegations come amid ongoing public debate about governance, personnel management, and compliance with administrative procedures within government institutions.

The government has not yet publicly responded to the latest criticism from MAN-PIN or the specific concerns raised regarding the court rulings.
