WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao police reported on Tuesday morning that a man was arrested on Monday afternoon for violating a court-imposed street ban.
According to the police, officers were dispatched shortly after 5:00 p.m. to Kaya Awaseru following a report of a breach of a restraining order. Upon arrival, a woman informed the officers that her former partner was standing in front of her home, despite being prohibited from entering the street.
Police launched an immediate search and located the suspect a short time later on the F.D. Rooseveltweg. The man, a 53-year-old Curaçao-born resident, was arrested without incident.
The suspect was subsequently presented to an assistant public prosecutor, who ordered his detention pending further investigation. The case remains under review.
