WILLEMSTAD – Police arrested a man on Wednesday after he was found cutting internet cables in a utility pit on Comanchesstraat in the Kwartier area.
Officers responded to a report of suspicious activity and discovered the individual inside a manhole, allegedly in the process of cutting cables, believed to be with the intent to steal them.
The suspect was immediately taken into custody and transported to a police station for further investigation.
The incident caused internet disruptions for some customers of telecom provider Flow. The company confirmed that its technical teams were quickly deployed to repair the damage and restore services.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case.
