WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao Wegenbouw Maatschappij (CWM) has completed and handed over a renovated section of Sta. Rosaweg, one of Curaçao's important connecting roads used daily by residents, businesses, and motorists.

The road improvement project involved extensive resurfacing work, the installation of paving stones, and significant upgrades to underground infrastructure.

According to CWM, more than 1,070 tons of asphalt were used during the renovation, along with over 4,600 square meters of paving stones.

However, the company emphasized that some of the project's most important improvements are not immediately visible to motorists.

Major Improvements Beneath the Road Surface

In addition to the visible road improvements, CWM carried out substantial work beneath the surface.

The project included the renovation of underground water and electricity infrastructure, as well as improvements to the existing soil beneath the road's foundation.

These underground upgrades are an important part of the overall renovation, helping to support the renewed road structure and improve the condition of the infrastructure serving the area.

By addressing both the road surface and the underlying infrastructure, the project goes beyond a conventional asphalt resurfacing operation.

The work was designed to improve the road while also addressing infrastructure components that are essential to its long-term performance.

Important Connection for Residents and Businesses

Sta. Rosaweg serves as an important transportation route for residents, businesses, and daily traffic in Curaçao.

The renovation represents an infrastructure improvement for the surrounding communities and businesses that depend on the road for accessibility and transportation.

The use of more than 1,070 tons of asphalt and 4,600 square meters of paving stones demonstrates the scale of the completed work.

The improvements to the underground water and electricity infrastructure also highlight the broader scope of the project.

CWM has now handed over the renovated section, marking the completion of this phase of the road improvement works.

The company has not provided additional details about the total project cost or the precise length of the renovated road section.

With the completion of the project, Sta. Rosaweg has received improvements both above and below ground, contributing to the maintenance and modernization of Curaçao's road infrastructure.
