Local, | By Correspondent June 11, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – The Public Works Department (OW) has announced that maintenance work on unpaved roads in the Mahuma/Juan Domingo area began on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.

The work is taking place on a side road in Mahuma/Juan Domingo, located behind the Esperamos area, and is expected to last approximately three weeks.

The project involves paving a road that is currently in poor condition. The work is being carried out by Mirten General Construction on behalf of the government.

According to OW, residents and businesses located in the area will continue to have normal access to their homes and establishments during the construction period.

For other motorists who regularly use the road, alternative routes will be available. These detours will be clearly indicated with orange barriers and traffic signs.

The Public Works Department is urging all drivers to exercise caution when traveling near the work zone and to follow the posted traffic instructions to ensure the safety of both road users and construction workers.

The road improvement project forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure and improve accessibility in neighborhoods across Curaçao.
