Louis Vuitton Takes Legal Action Against Casino in Sint Maarten Over Alleged Trademark Misuse

| By Correspondent March 17, 2026

PHILIPSBURG – International luxury fashion brand Louis Vuitton has initiated legal action against the Vegas Casino in Sint Maarten, owned by entrepreneur Francesco Corallo, over alleged unauthorized use of its trademarks.

According to the fashion house, the casino used Louis Vuitton’s name, logos, and recognizable monogram patterns without permission in both the building’s design and staff uniforms.

After reportedly issuing multiple warnings that went unanswered, Louis Vuitton proceeded with legal measures. A court in Sint Maarten has since ordered the seizure of the casino’s bank accounts for an amount of approximately $350,000.

The company argues that the unauthorized use of its branding constitutes misuse and could mislead the public into believing there is an official connection between the brand and the casino.

The Vegas Casino has not yet publicly responded to the allegations. The case is expected to be further examined by the court in the coming months.

Francesco Corallo, described as an Italian-Dutch businessman, operates several casinos across the Caribbean, with his main base in Sint Maarten. He has previously been the subject of controversy, including allegations related to tax fraud, money laundering, and possible links to organized crime.

The case highlights the increasing scrutiny around intellectual property rights in the Caribbean and the legal risks for businesses that use internationally recognized brands without authorization.
