WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao’s Public Affairs Department (Kranshi) will introduce a mandatory appointment system beginning September 7, 2026, for anyone who needs to register in Curaçao’s population register.
The Ministry of Governance, Planning and Services announced that the new requirement will apply both to people registering in the population register for the first time and to those who need to register again after moving or returning to Curaçao.
According to the ministry, the appointment system is intended to improve services, make the processing of applications more efficient and reduce waiting times for visitors to Kranshi.
Starting September 7, requests for registration in the population register will only be handled by appointment. People who need to register are therefore being urged to schedule their appointment before visiting Public Affairs.
Applicants are also advised to check in advance which documents are required. The government said having all necessary documentation ready should help prevent delays and allow applications to be processed more efficiently.
The ministry is encouraging anyone who expects to register in the population register in the coming weeks or months to make an appointment in a timely manner.
