WILLEMSTAD – The Ministry of Governance, Planning and Public Services has announced temporary changes to the opening hours of the Civil Affairs Department (Kranshi) and the Driver’s License Department on Thursday, November 5, and Friday, November 6, 2026, due to examinations involving Civil Affairs employees.
According to the ministry, both departments will close to the public at 12:00 noon on Thursday, November 5, and remain closed throughout Friday, November 6.

Regular counter services will not be available during these closure periods.
The temporary adjustments are necessary to allow employees of the Civil Affairs Department to complete examinations following a professional training program.
Over the past two months, employees have participated in two modules of the Basic Civil Affairs Training Program (Basisopleiding Burgerzaken), designed to strengthen their professional knowledge and improve the quality of services provided to the public.
The training concludes with examinations, requiring adjustments to the departments' regular service schedules.
The ministry emphasized that practical and theoretical driver's license examinations already scheduled for November 5 and 6 will proceed as planned, despite the temporary closure of regular counter services.
Residents who have appointments for these examinations can therefore attend as scheduled.
For additional information about government services, the public may contact the Permit Desk (Vergunningenloket) by telephone at 433-3123 or by email at infovergunningenloket@gobiernu.cw.
The ministry encourages residents who need services from Kranshi or the Driver's License Department to take the temporary closures into account when planning their visits.
