WILLEMSTAD – Stichting Kosecha Koperativa Kòrsou plans to launch a weekly subscription service within the next two months, offering customers fresh packages of locally grown produce as part of an initiative to strengthen Curaçao's food security and support local farmers.
The organization intends to offer two package sizes. A five-kilogram box is expected to be suitable for a single-person household, while an eight-kilogram package is designed for families of up to three people. Subscribers will likely pay a fixed monthly fee in exchange for receiving a fresh produce box every week.
The final subscription price, the exact contents of the packages and the official launch date have not yet been announced.
Before the service begins, Kosecha plans to organize one or two public events where prospective customers will be able to sample the produce and learn more about the subscription program. According to project representative Alvin Daal, the monthly subscription rates are still being calculated.
The fruits and vegetables will be grown at four agricultural sites across Curaçao, including two farms near Santa Catharina, one in Bao Barber and another at Landhuis Kenepa.
The organization has not yet disclosed how many farmers are participating in the initiative or how many produce boxes will be available each week.
Kosecha says the project is aimed at increasing the availability of locally grown food while reducing Curaçao's dependence on imported agricultural products.
The foundation was legally established on October 28, 2025, and was officially introduced to the public this week. Its founders include Klarvin Cijntje, Gilbertico "Tico" Serberie, Kristoffer-Paul "Kris" Kierindongo, Salomon Bomberg and Jean Henriquez, representing Landhuis Kenepa.
