WILLEMSTAD – Mavis Albertina paid a visit to the Governor of Curaçao, His Excellency Lucille George-Wout, on Thursday, March 12, 2026, to discuss preparations for this year’s King’s Games.
During the meeting, Albertina briefed the Governor on the plans and activities surrounding the King’s Games, which will take place in April on the island. The event consists of sports and recreational activities organized at primary schools, aimed at encouraging children to stay active, work together, and adopt a healthy lifestyle in an enjoyable way.

This year marks the 14th edition of the King’s Games, which were first introduced in 2013 in celebration of the inauguration of King Willem-Alexander. Since then, the initiative has grown into an annual event across primary schools throughout the Kingdom.
The 2026 edition is scheduled for Friday, April 24, with 52 schools in Curaçao already registered to participate.
Albertina also provided an overview of the projects and programs that will be supported by the organizing committee as part of this year’s activities. In addition, the discussion explored how the Governor, in his official capacity, could contribute to and be involved in the upcoming events.
