WILLEMSTAD – Sint Maarten hosted this year’s annual Kingdom Maritime Consultation, bringing together representatives from the countries within the Kingdom of the Netherlands to discuss key developments in the maritime sector.
The meeting focused on pressing issues such as the use of falsified ship registrations, the implementation of international sanctions, and strengthening maritime security. The consultation forms part of ongoing cooperation among the Kingdom’s maritime authorities under the framework of the Royal Netherlands Maritime Administration.

Over the years, the platform has proven its value by contributing to improvements in maritime legislation and procedures, as well as the development and training of professionals within the sector.
At the end of the week, the traditional “Four Countries Consultation” was held, during which the four ministers responsible for maritime and aviation affairs met to address current challenges and explore possible solutions to further strengthen the sector.
Governments across the Kingdom reaffirmed their commitment to close collaboration to ensure a safe, modern, and efficient maritime sector.
