THE HAGUE – King Willem-Alexander received Curaçao Governor Mauritsz de Kort for an audience at Huis ten Bosch Palace in The Hague on Wednesday morning, September 16.
The meeting formed part of the King's regular consultations with authorities from the Caribbean part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. During these meetings, the King is informed about recent developments affecting the islands and the countries within the Kingdom.
De Kort has served as Governor of Curaçao since November 2025. As Governor, he represents the King in Curaçao and performs duties at both the Kingdom and country level within Curaçao's constitutional system.
The Caribbean part of the Kingdom consists of the autonomous countries Curaçao, Aruba and Sint Maarten, as well as the Caribbean Netherlands.
The Caribbean Netherlands comprises the public entities Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba, which are constitutionally part of the Netherlands.
