WILLEMSTAD – Key security and law enforcement issues were recently discussed during the latest periodic meeting of the "Triangle," the consultative body that brings together the principal partners responsible for public safety, law enforcement, and the administration of justice in Curaçao.
During the meeting, participants reviewed several current security concerns and developments within the justice chain, focusing on crime prevention, public order, and operational preparedness.

Among the topics discussed were ongoing efforts to combat crime, including vehicle theft and residential burglaries. Special attention was also given to preparations for activities and festivities related to the FIFA World Cup, as well as measures aimed at maintaining public order and safety during the upcoming vacation period.
The participants also exchanged information on recent developments within the justice sector and agreed on a coordinated approach to addressing a number of security challenges affecting the community. Officials emphasized the importance of an integrated strategy in which prevention, law enforcement, and interagency cooperation work hand in hand to effectively combat crime and strengthen public safety.
Operational readiness was another key subject of discussion. Representatives reviewed the preparedness of the various services involved and the need to respond quickly to developments that could impact public order and security. Through regular coordination, the participating agencies are able to share information more efficiently, act more rapidly, and implement joint measures when circumstances require.
Representatives from the Curaçao Police Force (KPC), the Curaçao Correctional Institution (SDKK), the Public Prosecutor’s Office (OM), and the Ministry of Justice highlighted the value of structural cooperation among all partners within the security chain.
According to the participants, public safety is a shared responsibility that can only be achieved through continuous coordination, effective information sharing, and the commitment of all organizations involved.
Justice Minister Shalten Hato expressed his appreciation for the constructive contributions and strong commitment demonstrated by all participants. He emphasized that the collective efforts of the security partners remain essential to promoting safety, visibility, and the rule of law in Curaçao.
The minister noted that these regular meetings not only address current security challenges but also contribute to strengthening cooperation among the various institutions and improving the services provided to the community.
Officials reaffirmed their commitment to continued collaboration as they work to enhance public safety and ensure a secure environment for the people of Curaçao.
