WILLEMSTAD – The Joint Court of Justice of Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and the BES islands says 2025 marked a major transitional year focused on modernization, digitalization and strengthening the judicial system across the Caribbean part of the Kingdom. That is stated in the Court’s newly published Annual Report 2025.

According to the report, the Court adopted a multi-year strategic plan for 2025–2028 aimed at creating a more future-proof, transparent and professionally structured judicial organization. The strategy focuses on improving operational management, digital systems, quality control, human resources and facilities.

The Court says particular attention was given to strengthening financial oversight, internal governance, IT infrastructure and personnel policy. The organization describes these reforms as multi-year projects requiring continuous investment and oversight.

The report also highlights a major leadership transition following the departure of Court President Mauritsz de Kort, who stepped down after being appointed Governor of Curaçao. The Court says his successor is expected to be appointed in 2026.

According to the Management Board, the Court closed 2025 with an almost neutral financial result of negative 13,000 guilders.
