WILLEMSTAD – During the early morning hours of Sunday, August 2, 2026, unknown individuals stole hydraulic rescue equipment from one of the fire department vehicles stationed at the Fontein Fire Station.
The equipment is considered essential for the Curaçao Fire Department to carry out rescue operations involving people trapped in vehicle accidents and other dangerous or complex situations.
The Curaçao Police Force is asking anyone with information about the theft to contact police immediately by calling 917 or the anonymous tip line 108.
Police are also urging business owners to remain extra vigilant. Similar specialized equipment is often stolen and later used to commit burglaries at locations containing valuable property.
Authorities are relying on the cooperation of the community to assist with the investigation and help recover the equipment, which plays an important role in saving lives.
