WILLEMSTAD – Governor of Curaçao Mauritsz de Kort held a periodic consultation meeting with members of the Raad van Advies van Curaçao (Advisory Council) to discuss current developments in the country and several ongoing legislative projects.
The meeting took place on April 10 as part of the regular consultations between the Governor and the island’s principal advisory body on legislation and governance.

According to information released by the Governor’s office, the discussions focused on recent national developments and the progress of legislative initiatives currently under review.
The Advisory Council plays a key constitutional role in Curaçao by providing legal and policy advice on draft legislation, national decrees and other governance matters before they are formally adopted.
Such periodic meetings are considered important for maintaining dialogue on the legislative agenda and ensuring sound legal oversight.
The gathering also marked a farewell moment for outgoing Deputy Chairwoman Lizanne Dindial, for whom it was the final periodic consultation as a member of the Advisory Council.
During a joint luncheon following the meeting, Governor De Kort presented Dindial with a gift in recognition of her years of service and contribution to Curaçao’s advisory and legislative process.
Other members of the Advisory Council also offered her a token of appreciation.
The Governor’s office thanked Dindial for what it described as her valuable contribution to Curaçao, highlighting her role in helping guide legislative and governance matters over the years.
The Advisory Council remains one of Curaçao’s most important institutional bodies, tasked with safeguarding legal quality and constitutional integrity in government decision-making.
Its advice, while not always binding, often plays a significant role in shaping policy and legislation before implementation.
