Local, Venezuela, | By Correspondent July 8, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao Governor Mauritsz de Kort signed the book of condolences at the Venezuelan Consulate in Willemstad on Tuesday in memory of the victims of the devastating earthquakes that recently struck Venezuela.

The visit was made as a gesture of solidarity with the Venezuelan people following the disaster, which claimed lives, caused widespread destruction and prompted an international humanitarian response.

By signing the condolence book, Governor de Kort expressed Curaçao's sympathy for the victims, their families and all those affected by the tragedy.

The earthquakes have triggered a large-scale relief effort involving numerous countries and organizations. Curaçao has played a significant role in those efforts, serving as a logistical hub for humanitarian operations while local organizations, rescue teams and healthcare institutions have collected and delivered aid to affected communities in Venezuela.

The Venezuelan Consulate in Willemstad opened the book of condolences to allow officials, organizations and members of the public to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the disaster and to express support for the Venezuelan nation during its recovery.
