Governor Mauritsz de Kort Receives Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten During Curaçao Visit

WILLEMSTAD – Mauritsz de Kort welcomed Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten to the Governor’s Palace on May 13 for an introductory and working visit during Jetten’s stay on Curaçao.

Jetten, who also serves as chairman of the Kingdom Council of Ministers, met with the Governor to discuss several issues considered important for Curaçao and for cooperation within the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

According to the Governor’s Office, discussions focused on topics including good governance, economic development, institutional cooperation, and the shared challenges and opportunities facing the countries within the Kingdom.

During the meeting, Governor De Kort emphasized the importance of continued dialogue, mutual understanding, and constructive cooperation between the countries of the Kingdom while taking Curaçao’s specific circumstances and needs into account.

At the conclusion of the visit, the Governor presented Jetten with a special gift titled “Papiamentu den un kahita.”

The educational set contains cards designed to introduce users to the Papiamentu language and various cultural aspects of Curaçao in an accessible and pedagogical way.

According to the Governor’s Office, the gift symbolized the importance of language, culture, and identity within Curaçaoan society and within the Kingdom as a whole.
