WILLEMSTAD – On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, the Governor of Curaçao, Mauritsz de Kort, received the Ministers of State of Curaçao, Emily de Jongh-Elhage and Maria Liberia-Peters, at the Governor’s Palace.
The meeting marked the first in a series of regular consultations aimed at discussing current issues of importance to the country. During the exchange of views, attention was given to developments requiring particular focus, especially in relation to good governance, the rule of law, and social and societal challenges.
Given their distinguished records and extensive expertise in constitutional, administrative, and socio-societal matters, the Ministers of State fulfill an important role as special advisers to the Governor. Their insights and reflections contribute to careful and balanced decision-making on matters of national significance.
The introduction of these regular consultations is intended to strengthen and deepen dialogue on key societal and governance-related developments facing Curaçao.
