Governor and Dutch Justice Minister Discuss Shared Security Challenges

WILLEMSTAD – Governor of Curaçao Mauritsz de Kort received Dutch Minister of Justice and Security David van Weel on Wednesday, September 2, for talks focused on cooperation within the Kingdom and shared challenges in the areas of justice and security.

Van Weel was in Curaçao to participate in the Four-Country Judicial Consultation (JVO), which brings together the justice ministers of Curaçao, Aruba, Sint Maarten and the Netherlands.

During his meeting with the Governor, the two officials discussed cooperation among the countries of the Kingdom and common challenges related to justice and security.

The JVO serves as a platform for the four countries to coordinate on matters affecting their respective justice systems and to strengthen cooperation on shared priorities.

Van Weel’s meeting with De Kort took place as part of his visit to Curaçao for the consultations, which brought together justice officials and delegations from across the Kingdom.
