WILLEMSTAD – Employees of healthcare center Betèsda have received their salaries after the government intervened following the seizure of the institution’s bank accounts. The situation arose due to an ongoing legal dispute with former director Natasha Rog, which prevented Betèsda from paying wages and left staff uncertain for several days.
Minister of Health, Environment and Nature Ministry of Health, Environment and Nature, Tyron Boekhoudt (MFK), confirmed that the government temporarily took over the salary payments to ease the acute situation and ensure that employees were paid.
Most staff members received their salaries on Wednesday. Employees whose wages are paid into ACU accounts are expected to receive their payments no later than Thursday.
While the government’s intervention has resolved the immediate financial stress for employees, the underlying legal conflict has not yet been settled. A summary court hearing on the matter is scheduled for Friday.
