Government Reviews Progress Toward New Tourism Masterplan 2027–2032

Local, Tourism, | By Press release April 10, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – The Council of Ministers received a presentation on April 8, 2026, outlining the progress toward developing a new national tourism strategy, the Tourism Masterplan 2027–2032.

The current tourism masterplan covers the period from 2022 to 2026, meaning a new plan must be finalized and approved before the end of 2026 to ensure continuity in policy and development.

During the presentation, Muryad de Bruin, director of the Curaçao Tourist Board, and tourism expert Robertico Croes, who is advising on the development of the new masterplan, provided an update on the ongoing process. They emphasized the importance of analyzing all sectors and dimensions connected to tourism in order to create a comprehensive and sustainable strategy.

The Council of Ministers called on the Tourism Office to review the Government Program 2025–2029 of the Pisas III administration and incorporate relevant elements into the new tourism plan where necessary. This, according to the government, is essential to ensure alignment between broader policy goals and the future direction of the tourism sector.

Officials also stressed that the human factor — the local population — must remain central in the development of the new masterplan.

It was further agreed that in the second half of the year, following an evaluation, the Tourism Office, in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development, will present an update to the Council of Ministers on the achievements and developments related to the current Tourism Masterplan.
